For generations, families in the Kham region of Tibet, who have honed their sewing and weaving skills, still operate small cottage industries where traditional yak wooland textile arts continue to be made. In collaboration with Changming and Tsering and their extended family, we brought the Sangha Peace Cushion and other projects into the world to increase the visibility of these vanishing cultural traditions, create economic stability, and to promote the preciousness of things made by hand.
